Kreativ Global II - Feedback from the artists
Before this year's groups THE DREAMCATCHERS (India) and ARENA Y ESTERAS (PERU) come to visit to work with the young people from 10 educational institutions in NRW on the topics of SDG 1 and 12, we would like to share some of the solutions proposed by the artists from 2024.
To create more awareness about global challenges, Netra (artist from the group Theatre of Relevance from India) is determined that they must perform their play on ecology and poverty as often as possible.
With regard to SDG 1, Pranjal (artist of the Theatre of Relevance group from India) calls for ‘enabling education to fight poverty.’
Tanishka (artist from the Theatre of Relevance group from India) says: ‘To keep the environment clean, we must first clean up people's thinking’.
An artist from the group M.U.K.A.-project from South Africa says: ‘My solution is to open a community kitchen to distribute food to children in poverty.’
Another artist from the M.U.K.A.-project group demands: ‘We should reduce food waste! Some children only get to eat once a day, while others eat 2, 3 or more meals a day.’
The equalita institute is currently working on an Erasmus+ project on the topic of food waste (and plastic waste). The Waste Not, Want Not website contains many exciting and helpful resources.
We are excited to see what solutions will be developed at this year's exchanges!
